U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, was deployed with the Wisconsin Air National Gaurd for "the next few days" to respond to communities with violence in the aftermath of George Floyd's death.
Kinzinger is serving alongside his unit, according to an announcement made by his communications director.
Kinzinger, who also is a lieutenant colonel, has gone on missions before while in office. In at least two missions within the past year, Kinzinger was deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border. He has flown border duty before, doing immigration and drug-smuggling aerial surveillance.
Kinzinger's Washington and Illinois offices, including one in Ottawa, will be able to provide constituent services.
