Boys Basketball: Montini names Adam DeMong new head coach

Glen Ellyn native is a former college assistant coach at Lewis, Loyola

LOMBARD – Adam DeMong, who has been an assistant coach and associate coach at the college and high school levels, has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Montini.

DeMong, a Glen Ellyn native who played in high school at Glenbard West and was a member of a Big East championship team at Boston College, served as an assistant coach in high school at St. Patrick and Glenbard West. Collegiately he served as assistant coach and associate head coach at Lewis University, and as an assistant coach at Loyola and Ohio.

"Adam will bring a great deal of coaching experience to our Bronco court," Montini athletic director Tom Lentine said in a statement. "I speak for our entire staff when I say that we are very excited about the future of our boys basketball program under his leadership."

DeMong currently works as Vice President of High Major Sports, a sports and event marketing firm contracted by Under Armour for facilitating a grassroots basketball circuit. DeMong also coaches for the Downers Grove Wolfpack travel basketball program.

"This is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I am honored to have this chance," DeMong said in a statement. "I'm most excited to be in a position to connect, coach, and develop our current and future players, in order to create a program that the school and community can both be proud of."
