Nunda Lodge No.169 awards $1,000 scholarships to two McHenry County students

Nunda Lodge No.169 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons awarded two $1,000 scholarships to students from Crystal Lake and McHenry.

Prairie Ridge's Haley Wegener and McHenry West's Cassandra Netols each received $1,000 scholarships for their excellence in academic, civic and charitable endeavors.

Wegener will attend Iowa State University and major in political science with a second major in environmental sciences. She plans to pursue a degree in law with a focus on environmental law.

Netols will attend Wisconsin-Stevens Point and major in paper science and chemical engineering. Netols is active in various student chapter engineering groups and was a member of Job’s Daughters International.

Nunda Lodge No. 169 has been in the Crystal Lake community since 1855. The Lodge sponsors the Job’s Daughters International and DeMolay International chapters, supports its members and families that are in need, and hosts 40 sailors from Naval Station Great Lakes at Thanksgiving.
