Burger King in Princeton will close its doors for good on Monday, June 29, at 5 p.m.
Joe Smith, general manager of the restaurant, confirmed Thursday morning the restaurant is set to close at that time. He was unable to release a statement on why or how the decision was made.
Smith said employees were notified of the plan to close on Monday. He said the news took him by surprise.
“We’re going to miss everybody who has kept us alive this long,” he said. "We had a lot of regulars we are definitely going to miss once we are closed.”
Burger King opened in Princeton in the early 90s. The restaurant currently employs 11 employees, nine full-time and two part-time.
The restaurant is located at 105 Ace Rd., Princeton.
