Fairways takes Day 1 lead at Lincoln Highway golf tournament in Rochelle

ROCHELLE – Fairways I took the lead on their home course Saturday, the opening day of the Lincoln Highway golf tournament.

The team shot a +14 in the best-against-bogey format event, which has brought in 11 teams from around the area.

Prairie View is in second with a +7. Emerald Hills is third at -4, followed by Sunset (-8), Timber Creek (-18), Shady Oaks (-19), Rock River (-21), Indian Oaks (-21), Fairways II (-23), Lost Nation (-34) and Deer Valley (-44).

Individually, Dennis Reedy and Jason Wombacher are tied for the lead at even par. Thomas Brennan is third and one-over. Josh Johnson and Andrew Canfield are tied for fourth and three-over.

The tournament wraps up today.
