Lakemoor man sexually assaulted woman at Fox Lake business, police say

Fox Lake police arrested a 23-year-old Lakemoor man Friday who they said entered a Fox Lake business and sexually assaulted a female employee who was working alone.

Allan Cooper faces two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, according to a Friday news release. The felony offense typically is punishable by six to 30 years in prison.

Following his arrest, Cooper was taken to the Lake County jail on $500,000 bond, according to the release.

The charges stem from a June 19 investigation conducted by Fox Lake police and the Lake County State's Attorney's Office. Cooper is alleged to have entered a business in the area of Grand Avenue and Skillen Lane where the woman was working alone, Fox Lake Police Chief Jimmy Lee said.

During a brief conversation with the woman, Cooper lied about his name and then led the woman to another part of the building where he sexually assaulted her, according to the release. The woman reported the sexual assault after Cooper left the area.

A warrant was issued for Cooper's arrest Wednesday and officers arrested the man Friday at his Neptune Cove home, according to the release.
