Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake continues its longest-running program, Lucy's Comedy. The second installment of "Lucy's LIVE" will star Chicago's own Mike Toomey, and will feature comedian Fritz Nothnagel for two shows at 7 and 9 p.m. Aug. 8. Virtual viewing also is an option.
Comedian Mike Toomey is a regular performer on "WGN Morning News," and has appeared in concert with George Carlin, Wayne Newton and Reba McIntyre. He has performed on numerous television programs, including HBO's "U.S. Comedy Arts Festival" and MTV's "Half Hour Comedy Hour." Toomey's sharp delivery and quick wit have made him a favorite at comedy clubs and special events for nearly 30 years, a news release stated. Toomey is also the creator and star of the hilarious one-person show, "TV and Me," which enjoyed a successful run at Chicago's Apollo Theater.
He is known for his impersonations and PG-rated style.
"We're excited to welcome Mike Toomey back to our stage," Richard Kuranda, executive director of Raue Center, stated in the release. "Mike's outstanding comedy with Bob Saget, 'TV and Me' and other shows have made him one of Chicagoland's most recognizable comics."
Fritz Nothnagel is described as the funniest man you've never heard of – a Midwest boy with a global sense of humor and a quick wit at a laid-back pace. Nothnagel's sharp sense of sarcasm has been entertaining audiences since 1999.
State mandates require each performance to be capped at 50 people to maintain social distancing. Patrons can purchase up to four tickets per live event order. Masks are required when entering the space and throughout one's stay. The virtual ticket option, with multiple cameras, is an optional way to stay home and enjoy "Lucy's LIVE. "
