Country Financial supports Civil Air Patrol

DeKALB – The DeKalb Civil Air Patrol is a 2020 recipient of a Country Financial Operation Helping Heroes donation.

Country Financial representative Steve Klopfenstein presented the $1,500 donation to the organization to assist with the purchase of new training, education and recruitment equipment.

“The Civil Air Patrol is almost 100% a volunteer program,” Klopfenstein said in a news release. “They are an auxiliary of the United States Air Force tasked to do search and rescue, aerial photography, aerospace education, STEM, with children ages 12 to 18 as well as emergency services and character development. Most of their funds for training, education and recruitment come from donations.”

Country Financial recently tripled its initial pledge to its Operation Helping Heroes program and will now donate more than $3 million in 2020 to organizations and programs that support first responders and active duty service members, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.”

The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support nonprofit events and programs that benefit active duty service members, veterans and their families. In 2019, Country Financial expanded the program and donated $700,000 to approximately 500 first responder and military organizations.
