Oswego Village Hall at 100 Parkers Mill is temporarily closed today, Friday, Aug. 7, for disinfecting after a village employee tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a press release, the staff member worked at Village Hall, and prior to the symptoms and confirmation of illness, had limited interaction with the public. The staff member was also following recommended state guidelines regarding face masks and safe distancing.
The employee is now under a doctor’s care and self-quarantining as recommended, according to the release.
The Oswego Police Headquarters at 3355 Woolley Road and Oswego Public Works Facility at 100 Theodore will remain open to the public.
During the closure of Village Hall, residents will be able to conduct business over the phone or by email. Employees will continue to work remotely where possible. The public is asked to please allow additional time for staff to respond to requests and questions.
Village Hall will reopen following the guidance of state and local health authorities. An announcement will be made when that date is determined.
The village is working in consultation with the Kendall County Health Department to ensure that precautions are being taken to keep employees and the public safe, including notifying those who have been in contact with the individual.
Since March, the village has been following state and local health officials’ guidance including increasing cleaning schedules for village facilities, screening employees and contractors, and requiring masks during interactions with the public and in common areas to protect staff and the public.
According to the release, the village offers several contactless methods to pay bills: online at css.oswegoil.org; by phone at 630-554-3618; and pay in person, no contact required, at the pay box in front of Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill. If paying using the pay box, include the stub of your bill to ensure that payment is credited to the correct account.
