Whiteside County jail inmate dies Monday; autopsy results pending

MORRISON – The cause of death of a 50-year-old Whiteside County jail inmate is under investigation.

Michael Kinison from Trenton, Kentucky, and recently of Rock Falls, was found unresponsive during a routine check at 7 p.m. Monday, the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation said in a news release.

Whiteside County sheriff's deputies and Morrison Fire Department provided medical assistance, to no avail.

An autopsy was conducted; results are pending.

The ISP investigates other law enforcement agencies when the need arises.

Kinison was charged with arson and was being held on $25,000 bond; investigators say he set fire to a garage in Rock Falls on July 17.
