Plainfield woman falsely reported cops were taking her belongings: records

A Plainfield woman was charged with calling 911 to falsely report that police officers were taking her belongings, court records show.

At 12:30 a.m. Monday, Lindsay Rozner, 34, of the 16200 block of South Lexington Drive was taken to the Will County jail after her arrest in connection with the incident.

A criminal complaint filed against Rozner alleged that she called 911 on Sunday “for purposes of making a false complaint and reporting information.”

The complaint alleged Rozner reported that “police officers were taking her belongings” when at the time the call was made, she knew there were “no reasonable grounds for making the call.”

The complaint also alleged Rozner “further knew that the call could result in the emergency response of a public safety agency.

Rozner was arrested by the Plainfield police, according to the county jail log.

Plainfield police Cmdr. Anthony Novak did not respond to messages and a call Tuesday inquiring about Rozner’s arrest.

Rozner faces a charge of felony disorderly conduct. The offense is a class 4 felony, which may be punishable by up to three years in prison and a fine of to $25,000.

Rozner’s bond was set at $5,000 and she was released from jail shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, court records show.

On Jan. 22, 2019, Rozner was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery but the charges were dropped about 10 months later because no complaining witness appeared for the jury trial, according to court records.

Prosecutors’ motion to continue to the case was denied, court records show.
