This year, for the first time, the 4-H Livestock Fair was held virtually because to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fifty-six 4-H members showed 177 livestock animals virtually by recording videos of themselves showing their animals from the safety of their home. Livestock judges then reviewed the videos and like every other year chose champions, reserve champions, grand champions and reserve grand champions.
While 2020 and COVID-19 has challenged youth in the DeKalb County 4-H program, they have met that challenge head-on and learned how to persevere and adapt to a new way of showing their livestock projects.
