County Board Member Jim Luebke announces he's running for DeKalb Township Supervisor

DeKALB - Longtime DeKalb County Board Member Jim Luebke announced he's throwing his hat in the ring for DeKalb Township Supervisor, which is up for election in the April 2021 Consolidated Election.

It's his second time running for the role, after a campaign in 2013.

Luebke, also the chair of the DeKalb County Democrats, has served as District 9 county board member since 2014. The supervisor role was vacated in August after Jennifer Jeep-Johnson announced she's moving out of the township.

Trustee Nancy Teboda was selected to serve as interim supervisor in the meantime.

In a statement, Luebke said he's been a 25-year resident of the township and also served as DeKalb Township Trustee.

"I have made my home in DeKalb Township and would be honored to serve the people of DeKalb Township if I am elected," Luebke said. " When I first ran for Township Trustee in 2009 and when I ran for Supervisor in 2013, my platform called for more open, effective, and accountable government. As your candidate for Township Supervisor, I pledge again to work for more open, effective, and accountable government, building on the work done by the current Town Board and former Supervisor. I will devote myself to ensuring that this most basic unit of Grassroots democracy works for all of the people of DeKalb Township and I ask for your vote and your support."
