MORRISON – The Whiteside County Board will hold a public hearing on further acceptance of credit cards for any payments to the county when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrison High School auditorium.
The finance committee determined at its March 9 meeting that it would be in the best interests of Whiteside County residents if credit card payments were extended to any type of payment to the county government currently allowed under state law.
The board could act Tuesday on a resolution to expand allowing credit card payments, allowing the county administrator to implement rules for using credit cards and debit cards to make payments and enter into an agreement with card companies to facilitate those payments.
