Organizers of the Harvard Milk Days festival have created a dramatic way to entertain the community for one night this year despite the pandemic – with a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Sept. 26.
[It's] "a way to say 'thank you' to our great citizens of the Harvard area," the Harvard Milk Days Facebook page reads.
The show is set at Harvard Milky Way Park at 300 Lawrence Road.
"You’ll be able to park, view the show from your car – or close to it – and enjoy the free firework show," the post reads. "We ask that you remember to social distance while you are at Milky Way Park and respect others around you. You’ll also be able to tune in to WHIW 101.3FM, and enjoy some patriotic-firework type music during the spectacular show."
In case it rains Saturday, the rain date will be 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

The board already is working on plans for the 2021 festival celebration and "returning to a new normal," according to a news release. Anyone interested in helping with event committees can email the organizers at info@milkdays.com.
