Ogle County Sheriff

Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle reports the following police activity.

Sept. 19

Dylan DeYoung, 26, of Rockford was arrested at 4:40 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 6,000 block of North River Road.

DeYoung was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Amanda Reynolds, 45, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin was arrested at 5:32 p.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1,500 block of East Illinois 64. Reynolds was also issued citations for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol. Reynolds was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Sept. 21

At approximately 4:10 p.m. deputies responded to a motorcycle accident in the 6,700 block of West Illinois 72. After an investigation it was learned that Ronald Witherby, 50, of Rockford, struck the rear of another motorcycle, which caused Witherby to lose control of his motorcycle.

Witherby was airlifted to St Anthony’s Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Witherby was issued citations for driving on a revoked license, no motorcycle classification, expired registration, operating a vehicle with no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. D & W Towing removed the vehicle from the location.

Sept. 22

Kenny Wollitz, 35, of Rockford was arrested for driving while license revoked and two outstanding Rockford warrants after being stopped by deputies on Illinois 251 near Davis Junction for speeding. Wollitz was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Aaron Harvey, 30, of Holcomb was arrested for disorderly conduct after a disturbance at a residence in Holcomb. Harvey was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Sept. 23

At 5:11 p.m. deputies responded to Hogan Road and Rocky Hollow Road for a report of an overturned semi truck and trailer hauling corn. It was determined that a 2018 Freightliner driven by James T. Rife, 73, of Rockford, was traveling north on Rocky Hollow Road from Hogan Road when he went off the east side of the road causing the tractor trailer to roll over onto the roof.

Rife was extricated by Oregon Fire Department and transported to a Rockford Hospital by Oregon Ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Illinois State Police. The crash remains under investigation.

Christopher Ireland, 47, of Bettendorf, Iowa was arrested at 9:34 a.m. for driving while license suspended after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of South Ridge Road. Ireland was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Ireland was released on an I-Bond.

Martavius Woodson, 28, of Chicago was arrested at 10:20 p.m. for driving while license suspended after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Illinois 2. Woodson was also taken into custody for having an active Cook County warrant and was issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two equipment violations. Woodson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Ramon Woodson, 26, of Chicago was arrested at 10:20 p.m. for driving while license suspended after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Illinois 2. Woodson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Sept. 24

Kenneth Tautkus, 39, of Sugar Grove was arrested at 7:47 p.m. for unlawful possession of cannabis (30-100 grams) and unlawful possession of cannabis in a vehicle after deputies stopped a 2011 Gray Nissan truck on Interstate 88 at mile marker 76 for speeding. Tautkus was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Sept. 25

Joseph D. Walker, 27, of Rockford was arrested at 1:48 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6,000 block of North Illinois 251 for a traffic violation. Walker was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Rebekah Parker, 36, of Rockford was arrested for a failure to appear warrant. Parker had a bond of $1,493.42 and went to court and received a $1,000 recognizance bond. Parker was released from the Ogle County Jail and is scheduled to return at a later date.

William Hagemann, age and residence not listed, was taken into custody on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for contempt in civil court with a bond of $345. Hagemann was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released to the correctional staff.

Sept. 26

Jason Stombaugh, 34, of Oregon was arrested at 7:33 p.m. for disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a noise complaint at Sledgehammer’s bar at 1450 N. Illinois 2 in Oregon. Stombaugh was released on an I-Bond and will appear in court at a later date.

Sept. 27

Justin M. Gates, 25, of Kingston was arrested at 12:23 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies conducted a traffic stop at East Illinois 72 at Kishwaukee Road. Gates was also cited for improper traffic lane usage. Gates was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to the correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Sept. 28

Robert Coldren, 34, of Polo was arrested for driving while license revoked after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1,300 block of Pines Road after learning the vehicle was possibly involved in a domestic dispute. Coldren was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
