IDPH to provide free COVID-19 testing in Joliet, Romeoville

The Illinois Department of Public Health will again provide free drive-thru and walk-in testing for COVID-19 in Will County in the coming days.

The IDPH is sponsoring drive-thru and walk-up testing sites at Joliet Junior College, located at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet this Monday, Tuesday and Oct. 4.

The IDPH will also be at the Village of Romeoville building, located at 1050 W. Romeo Road in Romeoville, on Saturday.

Testing will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

Anyone can get tested at these sites regardless of symptoms, according to the IDPH. Simple nasal swabs will be used, and those tested will receive their results within four to seven days.

There will be no cost for testing. Residents are asked to bring their insurance card, but they can still get tested if they do not have insurance.

The Will County Health Department also provides regular testing open to the public at various locations throughout the county. The health department offers testing at its Monee office every Monday and at its Bolingbrook office every Friday.
