Andy Johnston was named Carus LLC’s next president and chief executive officer by its board of directors.
Carus is an environmental company in Peru that produces and supplies products, equipment and services for water treatment, air purification and remediation.
He brings more than 30 years of global experience in the chemical industry.
Most recently, he served as group vice president at Composites of Ashland LLC, where he led the business to record sales and EBITDA growth, according to a news release.
During his 25-year tenure at Ashland, Johnston led multiple businesses and executed initiatives, including acquisitions, global expansion and innovation pipeline management. Before that, Johnston spent nine years at ICI PLC in the United Kingdom and the U.S., where he served in a variety of technology and business leadership positions.

He has successfully demonstrated the ability to innovate and grow both the sales and EBITDA of multiple businesses.”
Johnston is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, where he earned a degree in pure and applied chemistry. He also holds an MBA from The Ohio State University.
