Glover is new director of the Joiner History Room

The DeKalb County History Center has named Rob Glover as the new director of the Joiner History Room. He will serve as an archivist and collection specialist at the history center.

“Rob has been an important part of our organization for years," Michelle Donahoe, history center executive director, said in a news release. "He has shared his talents as a volunteer and as a consultant who assisted with exhibits, research and archival projects. We are very excited to have him serve as the director of the Joiner History Room.”

Glover has a Master of Arts degree in history with an emphasis in public history from Northern Illinois University. He is in his sixth year as executive director of the Glidden Homestead, and has served as a consultant on a variety of projects at the DeKalb County History Center.

Previously, he worked as an archivist for NIU’s Regional History Center and since 2009 he has volunteered his services at the Sycamore History Museum and DeKalb County History Center.

Glover has processed, preserved, digitized and created metadata as well as managed large collections and archival records across both digital and physical formats. He is looking forward to continuing the important work of the Joiner History Room.
