Huntley's girls tennis team captured the Fox Valley Conference regular-season title with a 7-0 victory over host McHenry on Tuesday.
Ruhi Gulati (No. 1), Elaina Hibbler (No. 2) and Alessandra Rivera (No. 3) came away with the singles wins for Huntley.
In doubles play, Michelle Barnvos and Kyle Phommasack (No. 1), Talia Duffy and Dyllan Cash (No. 2), Michelle Chan and Kareena Patel (No. 3) and Emily Willis and Sunni Kwon (No. 4) earned wins.
Crystal Lake Central 6, Prairie Ridge 1: At Prairie Ridge, the Tigers picked up a FVC dual win.
Ellie McGinnis and Katie Hopkins won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. The Tigers swept all four doubles matches. Haley Benard and Emma Grindstaff (No. 1), Olivia Johnson and Megan Rapisarda (No. 2), Ellyse Cruz and Lexi Holtkamp (No. 3) and Grace Cullian and Anika Richard all earned wins.
Lillian Manley had the lone win for Prairie Ridge at No. 2 singles.
BOYS GOLF
Class 3A Buffalo Grove Regional: At Buffalo Grove Country Club, Dundee-Crown's Jake Russel tied for 23rd individually with an 84 as the Chargers took eighth with a 349. Hersey won the regional championship with a 302, followed by Barrington (309).
Yash Dulla shot 85, Aidan Svec had a 89 and Chris Przybylak added a 91 to round out the scoring for D-C.
Class 3A Rockford East Regional: At Elliot Golf Course in Rockford, Hampshire's Payton Yee fired an 84 for the Whip-Purs, who finished seventh as a team with a 364. Yee's 84 tied for 12th overall.
Hononegah won the regional title with a 328, a shot ahead of Rockford Guilford (329).
Connor McCreery carded a 91 for Hampshire, Ian Pawlak shot 93 and Jake Greenwald had a 96.
Class 2A Grayslake Central Regional: At Stonewall Orchard in Grayslake, Richmond-Burton's Ryan Eskuri, last week's Kishwaukee River Conference individual champion, carded a 95, tying for 25th, and the Rockets took eighth with a team score of 400.
Grayslake Central (332) won the team title by a shot over Vernon Hills (333). Johnsburg was ninth with a 420.
Colten Miller carded a 98 for R-B, Connor L’Esperance posted a 101 and Jeff Lehn added a 106.
For Johnsburg, Michael Link shot 102, Nick Thill had a 103, Mike Preston had a 105 and Mason Diedrich chipped in a 110.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Harvard 19, Richmond-Burton 42: At Richmond, the Steven Austin finished in 18:12.7 to lead the Hornets to the KRC dual meet win.
The Rockets’ Sean Rockwell was second. Harvard grabbed the next four spots with Jared Gonzales, Emmanuel Pineda, Zach Isonhart and Elijah Binz.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Richmond-Burton 19, Harvard 42: At Richmond, Catherine Miller and Amanda Allport finished 1-2 to lead the Rockets to their KRC dual meet win.
Harvard’s Lizeth Flores took third, then R-B’s Julia Hicks and Jane Wisniewski had the next two spots.
