The Bears lost left guard James Daniels to a pectoral injury in Thursday night’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Daniels left early in the second half and did not return.
According to a report from the NFL Network, Daniels will undergo an MRI and the fear is that the injury could be season-ending.
Backup Alex Bars slid into the lineup and filled in for most of the second half on Thursday. Bars did enough to help the Bears beat Tampa Bay, 20-19, on a late field goal from kicker Cairo Santos.
Long term, the Bears might have some concerns on the offensive line. The Bears have been lucky in the injury department and have thus far avoided any major injuries to their starters. Daniels could be the first.
