LaSalle County has two new deaths, 30 cases, 61 new recoveries

Mendota has largest increase with nine new cases

The LaSalle County Health Department announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday as well as 61 new recoveries. There have been two new COVID-19 related deaths, a woman in her 80's and a woman in her 90's.

The county has 650 active cases as of Thursday afternoon.

The new cases are a male child under 13 years old, three femaile children under the age of 13, a male in his teens, a female in her teens, five males in their 20s, four females in their 20s, two males in their 30s, a female in her 30s, a male in his 40s, four females in their 40s, two females in their 50s, three males in their 60s and two females in their 60s.

There have been 2,577 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. 1,859 of those cases have been removed from isolation. The county has had 68 COVID-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Region 2, which covers LaSalle, Livingston, Bureau and Putnam counties along with many others, has a positivity rate of 7.9% and four straight days of positivity increases.

Between Oct. 19-25, La Salle County has had 7.4% of coronavirus tests come back positive, including 10.5% on Sunday (out of 219 tests) and 10% on Saturday (out of 380 tests).

• Ottawa had five additional cases, bringing its count to 464 since the start of the pandemic.

• Streator had four additional cases, increasing its total to 496.

• Peru had two additional cases, bringing its count to 286.

• La Salle had three additional cases, bringing its count to 256.

• Mendota had nine additional cases, bringings its count to 362.

• Marseilles had three additional cases, bringing its count to 169.

• Oglesby stayed at 99 cases.

• Sheridan had two additional cases, bringing its count to 93.

• Earlville stayed at 38 cases.

• Seneca had an additional case, bringing its count to 48.

• Utica had an additoinal case, bringing its count to 47.

• Somonauk, which also is in DeKalb County, remained at 62.

• Grand Ridge remained at 31.

• Leland remained at 29.

• Wenona, which is mostly in Marshall County, remained at 24.

• Tonica remained at 17.

• Lostant remained at 13.

• Millington, which also is in Kendall County, has an additional case and now has 14.

• Ransom remained at nine.

• Serena remained at nine.

• Cedar Point remained at eight.
