The Community Foundation for McHenry County plans to relocate to 33 E. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake, in the “very near future,” a sign of the nonprofit’s long-term commitment to the area, it said in a news release Tuesday.
The hope is the new permanent, central location will heighten the group’s visibility and encourages more community participation, according to the release.
The organization currently is located at 630 N. Route 31, Suite 101, in Crystal Lake, according to its website.
Founded in 2001, The Foundation works to provide legacy giving opportunities to McHenry County’s donors and charitable organizations.
The new building also will house the Philanthropy Center, which will serve as a hub for charitable collaboration, according to the release. The space is designed to provide “unlimited opportunities to work together with a wide variety of people and organizations toward one common goal – to improve the lives of friends and neighbors in McHenry County,” according to the release.
The Philanthropy Center was made possible through a donation from Greg and Dana Gliniecki, according to the release.
“Greg and I felt strongly that McHenry County could benefit from a place that provides a unique opportunity to bring individuals, families and businesses to philanthropy and provide them with education and support as they explore and fulfill their philanthropic goals. It will serve as a place to think, plan, meet, support and innovate,” Dana Gliniecki said in the release.
