Week 9 power rankings: The last unbeaten is our new No. 1

Our power rankings are updated each week during the NFL’s regular season and are intended to rank teams based on their talent and performance to date.

Rankings will change each week because of personnel changes, injuries and performance, and a team’s ranking in any given week has no impact on where they might rank in weeks to come.

These are our NFL Week 9 Power Rankings:

1. Pittsburgh (7-0): Seem clearly to be the most complete team in the league right now.

2. Kansas City (7-1): Cruising along right now in softer part of their schedule.

3. Seattle (6-1): Impressive response to first loss to Cardinals with solid rout of 49ers.

4. Tampa Bay (6-2): Giants shouldn't have been that hard, maybe looking ahead to New Orleans.

5. Baltimore (5-2): Near top of tier 2 but obviously not ready for Steelers, Chiefs.

6. Buffalo (6-2): Hard to get excited about, but they keep doing enough to win .

7. Indianapolis (5-2): Colts look to be building some momentum now, big test Sunday.

8. Green Bay (5-2): Vikings exposed the soft middle of that defense again.

9. Tennessee (5-2): Didn't see Bengals flop coming, defense just not getting it done.

10. New Orleans (5-2): As Michael Thomas gets closer they get more dangerous.

11. Arizona (5-2): Rested now, interesting to see how they'll handle surging Dolphins.

12. L.A. Rams (5-3): Jekyll & Hyde last few weeks, which'll show up after the bye.

13. Chicago (5-3): With any offense they'd be dangerous, huge O-line worries now.

14. Las Vegas (4-3): Awfully impressive in Cleveland but still question defense.

15. Cleveland (5-3): Yeah, they're a lot better, but still not ready for prime time.

16. Miami (4-3): Young, improving very fast, a team to keep a close eye on.

17. San Francisco (4-4): Super Bowl hangover, injuries likely too much to overcome?

18. Detroit (3-4): Thought they were turning a corner but didn't show up for Indy.

19. Philadelphia (3-4-1): Looks like they have enough for NFC "Least" but that's about it.

20. Denver (3-4): Fangio's doing a great job with these guys, just not enough horses.

21. New England (2-5): Buffalo loss was probably it, looks like the King is dead.

22. Minnesota (2-5): May be too late but knew they couldn't be as bad as first six weeks.

23. Carolina (3-5): Looking more like a rebuilding club now after getting off to a nice start.

24. L.A. Chargers (2-5): These guys are writing the book on finding new ways to lose.

25. Cincinnati (2-5-1): Big win over Titans, Burrow is looking like the real deal.

26. Washington (2-5): Curious why they seem ready to quit on Haskins so soon?

27. Dallas (2-6): McCarthy didn't make this mess but G.M. won't fire himself.

28. Atlanta (2-6): They're not going anywhere but they're not quitting either.

29. Houston (1-6): Really surprised they stood still at the deadline.

30. N.Y. Giants (1-7): Judge has them fighting, but when will they start winning?

31. Jacksonville (1-6): Another club going nowhere that we thought would be sellers.

32. N.Y. Jets (0-8): Running out of ways to describe this mess.
