Joliet considers zoning variations for Gas N Wash on Theodore Street

The Joliet Zoning Board of Appeals will consider sign variations and a special use permit for a car wash at the future Gas N Wash at Theodore Street and Drauden Road.

The city in August approved a drive-thru for a Dunkin' shop at the site, and a Ta Canjo Tacos also is planned for what was then being branded as a Food N Fuel store. The site is already under construction.

The zoning board on Nov. 19 will consider variations to allow more signage than is allowed under the neighborhood business zoning for the 10.4-acre site. A 120-square-foot signage cap would be increased to 900 square feet. Wall signs and canopy signs also would be allowed under proposed variations.

The location is one of two being developed in Joliet for a Gas N Wash, which also has been approved for Route 6 and Gougar Road.
