Illinois State Police enforce, raise awareness of Scott’s Law

Scott's Law is named after Lieutenant Scott Gillen of the Chicago Fire Department who was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver while assisting at a crash. It requires drivers approaching police or emergency vehicles who are stopped on the roadway to reduce speeds, proceed with caution and switch lanes, if possible.
