Opening her own dental practice in the area she grew up in is “everything” for Dr. Courtney Botica, a graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School.
Botica grew up in the Lincoln-Way area and three and half years ago moved to New Lenox with her husband. For the previous four years, Botica was practicing in northwest Indiana, but in September opened her practice, Forever Family Dental of New Lenox.
Forever Family Dental is located at 202 Vancina Lane.
Botica was able to celebrate the opening with a ribbon-cutting Friday with a limited number of friends and family. Botica and her team were officially welcomed into the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce, as well.
“It means everything that we were able to still do something (for a grand opening),” Botica said. “My plan was to have a big thing over the summer because we were supposed to open in the spring, but plans changed. There has been a lot of hardship.”
Botica enjoyed practicing in Indiana for the time she did, as she felt accepted by her patients, but it is going to mean more that she does not have to be a commuter dentist anymore, she said.
New Lenox is the area where she and her husband plan to raise their children.
“It means a lot more to come back and serve the community,” Botica said. “I always wanted to be a hometown dentist. Chicago is so saturated and I didn’t envision raising a family there. We know that we are rooted here in New Lenox. This is such a perfect location and once this location became available, I jumped on it.”
She wants the roots in the community to be strong.
“I want to be out and about and see someone and have them say, ‘That’s Dr. Botica, my kids are on her kids’ soccer team,’” Botica said.
When naming the practice, she wanted something that would fit the feel of the New Lenox community.
“I didn’t want anything generic,” she said. “I wanted it to be geared toward family. I had a patient (the other day) that was 1½ years old. I love all ages of dentistry. There is such a broad sea of patients.”
Forever Family Dental is offering an $89 new patient special which includes an exam, X-rays and professional teeth whitening. Botica is also Invisalign certified.
And although the first two months of opening the practice have been during strange times, the practice has been off to a good start and Botica is looking forward to the future. And those long-term goals all revolve around the name “Forever Family.”
“Access to care is key,” she said. “You’re also catering to the entire family. I want this to be everyone’s forever dental home. When you establish a place for your dental care, that’s where you go.”
