PRINCETON — Princeton Elementary School District announced today it will have an 'adaptive' pause until Thanksgiving as a COVID-19 mitigation measure.
An email sent to district families read as follows:
"We write today to inform you that P.E.S. will implement an adaptive pause of in-person learning. This adaptive pause will only impact three instructional days over a ten day period. The district will move to full remote instruction for the following days: Monday, Nov. 23; Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Monday, Nov. 30. This adaptive pause has been approved by the Bureau County Health Department. "
PES's rationale for the adaptive pause is as follows:
• Initiating the adaptive pause on Nov. 23 provides time for families to prepare for childcare
10 days of reduced exposure.
• This adaptive pause allows families and staff to heal from current quarantine requirements and to limit new contamination that can occur over the ten day pause.
• To address staffing shortages.
Families that would like to request breakfast and lunch meals during the adaptive pause should email Lisa Clark at foodservice.logan@pes115.org as soon as possible. Meals will be available for pick up on Friday, Nov. 20, between 1:15-2:15 p.m. at Logan Junior High School. Please enter the north parking lot from Mercer Street.
"During the adaptive pause, district administration will continue to evaluate the plan and communicate any changes that may be necessary. We look forward to seeing the in-person learners back on Dec. 1. Student materials will be sent home with students this week," the notice reads.
