DuPage County Health Department offering free drive-thru flu vaccinations this week

DUPAGE COUNTY – The DuPage County Health Department is offering a free drive-thru flu vaccination clinic this week for residents ages 18-65, where they can be vaccinated from their vehicle.

The clinics will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 20 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton. Vaccine supplies are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. or until doses are no longer available.

To enter the DuPage County Fairgrounds, visitors should enter through the main entrance at 2015 Manchester Road. Visitors are asked to wear a mask and short-sleeved shirt or sleeves that roll up for easy access to the upper arm.

“We are urging residents to get their flu shots, to help avoid potential co- infection with COVID-19 and flu, which may help prevent more severe illness and hospitalizations. This is especially important as our local COVID-19 cases continue to rise exponentially,” said Karen Ayala, Executive Director of the DuPage County Health Department.

To increase accessibility to all DuPage County residents, the DuPage Health Coalition (DHC) offers free flu shots to low-income, uninsured residents of DuPage County. In addition to the flu vaccine voucher program, several local Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) are also offering flu vaccines to their uninsured patients.
