DOWNERS GROVE – Three seniors in Community High School District 99 signed national letters of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Downers Grove North's McKenna Cinotte signed with Ball State for track and field. The four-year varsity member at North was a state qualifier in the sprints and jumps her freshman year and sophomore year, taking sixth place at state in the triple jump as a sophomore. She was also sectional champion as a sophomore in the 400 relay, 800 relay and triple jump.
Her junior season was cut short by COVID-19, but that did not stop her from breaking the indoor school record in the triple jump with a jump of 38 feet, 4.5 inches. Over the summer she triple jumped 40 feet, 1.5 inches, ranking her among the top five in the nation for the upcoming high school track and field season.
Downers Grove South's Noah Edders signed with Bradley for baseball. The three-year varsity starting pitcher with a fastball clocked in the low 90s and two plus breaking pitches makes Edders a force on the mount. He also contributes to the Mustangs' team as a first baseman and designated hitter.
Madeline Padavic, who signed with Miami (Ohio), is one of Downers Grove South's most decorated swimmers. Padavic is a 16-time all-conference athlete in swimming. She holds 5 West Suburban Conference Gold Division records. Her school records include the 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle relay, 100 backstroke and 400 free relay. Other honors she has earned include her three All-State awards and her All-American award in 2019.
