De Re Auto and Tire became an authorized Illinois air team emission testing station at the beginning of the month.
The move allows New Lenox residents to receive their vehicle emission tests in town rather than driving to near the Joliet Mall, where the closest spot is for many.
Emissions tests are required when vehicles turn four years old and are required every two years after that. To legally drive on the road, drivers must have their vehicle pass the test. De Re also is certified in emissions repairs.
De Re Auto and Tire is located at 430 Nelson Road, but also has locations in Oak Forrest and Orland Hills.
