Santa Claus will still be spreading holiday cheer in downtown Crystal Lake in spite of the pandemic.
The annual visits, which are free and organized by Downtown Crystal Lake, will continue to be held this season with some changes, including that Santa will be wearing a mask and gloves while maintaining a 6-foot distance from visitors. The Santa House has also been fitted with a plexiglass surround.
Santa will be sitting outside on his decorated porch, and children will be able to sit on the stairs and visit with Santa. Parents can still capture a photo of the visit.
Santa's House will be located in the same place as past years, at Brink Street Market, from Nov. 28 to Dec. 23. The hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
For Dec. 21, 22 and 23, additional weekday hours of 6 to 8 p.m. will also be held.
