A Chicago teen was taken to the Will County jail on charges alleging he hijacked a woman’s BMW while he was armed with a firearm, according to court records.
On Tuesday, Stacy Davis, 18, of the 5800 block of South Aberdeen Street was transferred from jail in Cook County to the one in Will County on charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery, aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Davis was indicted on the charges Nov. 19.
The indictment alleged Davis stole a 2020 BMW X4 from a woman on Oct. 13 in Tinley Park “by threatening the imminent use of a force” while he was armed with a firearm. The BMW had a value of $25,000 or greater, the indictment said.
Davis also stole the women’s key fob as well, according to the indictment.
The indictment also alleged Davis carried a firearm during the incident when he did not have a valid firearm owner’s identification card.
Tinley Park Police Chief Matthew Walsh did not respond to a message and call inquiring about Davis’ arrest on Wednesday.
On Oct. 14, Judge Vincent Cornelius had signed a warrant for Davis’ arrest. The warrant carried a $350,000 bond.
Davis remains in the Will County jail as of Wednesday and he will need to post $35,000 for his release from jail.
Cornelius also ordered Davis’ case sealed because it contained information that was part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The case was unsealed on Nov. 10 at the request of the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, court records show.
