Joliet Junior College announced the expansion of its university partnership program which helps JJC graduates more easily earn a bachelor's degree.
JJC has partnered with Purdue University Fort Wayne to help students earn an undergraduate degree in applied science, according to a news release.
Starting in the spring 2021 semester, JJC students earning an associate of applied science degree have the option of transferring up to 88 credit hours towards PFW's bachelor of applied science programs.
The agreement offers flexibility to enroll in any of the university's bachelor of applied science programs, and is available to current Joliet Junior College students seeking a transfer, and recent graduates of the college.
“This agreement is going to be a great opportunity for JJC alumni and students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science,” Jeanette Konieczka, manager of adult pathways and university partnerships at JJC, said in the release.
Konieczka has said JJC's partnerships with universities helps students save money as they take three years of classes at JJC tuition rates. The program also helps students who are geographically bound.
JJC also has partnerships with Eastern Illinois University, Franklin University, Governor's State University, National Louis University and Southern Illinois University. Each partner university offers its own set of degree programs through the partnerships.
