Several more free mobile COVID-19 testing sites will be coming to new DeKalb County locations this month.
The DeKalb County Health Department and Illinois Department of Public Health are partnering with local agencies and school districts to provide the additional mobile testing, according to a Kishwaukee Family YMCA social media post. The local YMCA location at 2500 W. Bethany Road in Sycamore will be one of those sites, with testing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 and the entrance being from Bethany Avenue on to Health Services Drive. A mobile COVID-19 test site also will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Sandwich Fairgrounds, 1401 Suydam Road in Sandwich, with the entrance being from West Center Street. Testing also will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 22 at DeKalb High School, 501 W. Dresser Road in DeKalb, with the entrance from Pride Avenue, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 29 at Sycamore High School, 427 Spartan Trail in Sycamore, with the entrance from Johnson Avenue.
Simple nasal swabs will be used for all of the tests, according to the post. Health officials will call test patients with results within four to seven days.
