Letter: Why cut meal delivery, McHenry District 15?

To the Editor:

I can understand an elementary school district cutting back on services. What I can’t understand is McHenry Elementary School District 15 cutting off essential services.

To stop the meal delivery service to children that need it is shameful. Maybe the board members are not close enough to the families that receive those services to fully understand this decisions impact.

There are kids that will not get enough to eat when McHenry Elementary School District 15 stops the program.

Also, imagine if those families impacted work in the service industry which is negatively affected by the pandemic. Double punch in the gut for those kids. McHenry Elementary School District 15, you should be ashamed of yourself. Please reconsider this.
