CHICAGO – The Bears will have OLB Khalil Mack, WR Allen Robinson and DT Akiem Hicks available for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field.
All three were battling injuries this week in practice, but are good to go for Sunday.
Inactive for the Bears on Sunday is RB Artavis Pierce, OL Lachavious Simmons, NT Daniel McCullers, WR Riley Ridley and OLB James Vaughters.
ILB Roquan Smith and OL Alex Bars both missed practice Friday for an unspecified reason, but will play Sunday. WR Darnell Mooney, who missed Friday’s practice with a knee injury, will also play.
Robinson tweaked his knee in practice Friday. Head coach Matt Nagy said the Bears thought it was best to be cautious and hold Robinson out for the remainder of Friday's practice.
Hicks hasn't played since the Bears faced the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 16 at Soldier Field. He injured his hamstring in the second half against the Vikings. His return should be a boost for the Bears defense.
Mack has been battling a back injury this week and sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday before returning in a limited capacity Friday.
QB Nick Foles is also active Sunday for the first time since injuring his hip Nov. 16 against the Vikings. Foles returned to practice for the first time on Thursday. He is slated to be the backup quarterback. Earlier this week, Nagy named QB Mitch Trubisky the starter for Sunday’s game against the Lions.
For the Lions, QB David Blough, WR Kenny Golladay, CB Jeff Okudah, RB D’Andre Swift, DL Da’Shawn Hand and DE Austin Bryant are inactive Sunday.
The Bears avoid Golladay for the second time this year after he sat out their Week 1 game. Swift had been out with a concussion, but has passed through concussion protocols. According to the Lions, Swift is dealing with an illness.
