Week 14 power rankings: Steelers finally stumble; Saints continue to impress

Our power rankings are updated each week during the NFL’s regular season and are intended to rank teams based on their talent and performance to date.

Rankings will change each week because of personnel changes, injuries and performance, and a team’s ranking in any given week has no impact on where they might rank in weeks to come.

These are our NFL Week 14 Power Rankings:

1. Kansas City (11-1): They're the champs until somebody else beats them in the postseason.

2. Pittsburgh (11-1): Undefeated isn't realistic, but Super Bowl is. Bud Dupree injury hurts.

3. New Orleans (10-2): May be playing best football in league... without Drew Brees.

4. Buffalo (9-3): Nobody you know, but nobody else can beat them.

5. Green Bay (9-3): Can't pick this defense in playoffs, can't pick against Aaron Rodgers.

6. L.A. Rams (8-4): This team this high is how unstable the rest of the league is.

7. Indianapolis (8-4): Classic two steps forward, one step back, but have won 3 of last 4.

8. Seattle (8-4): You still can't win big in this league without defense.

9. Cleveland (9-3): Don't see them with big dogs but can't argue Colts, Titans wins.

10. Tennessee (8-4): Look closer, they've actually lost 4 of last 7, including a loss to the Bengals.

11. Baltimore (7-5): Got it turned around vs. Dallas... but it was Dallas

12. Tampa Bay (7-5): Week off to figure out O-line, secondary, and get Tom Brady a breather.

13. Miami (8-4): Soft recent schedule but beating teams they're supposed to beat.

14. New England (6-6): No Super Bowls but count them out of playoffs at your own peril.

15. Las Vegas (7-5): Going in right direction, but defense not ready for the big boys yet.

16. Arizona (6-6): Dropped 4 of 5. Have teams figured out Kliff Kingsbury, or is it Kyler Murray's shoulder?

17. Minnesota (6-6): It's rarely pretty but 5 of 6 is 5 of 6, Wild-card likely?

18. N.Y. Giants (5-7): Four in a row is one thing, but winning at Seattle without Daniel Jones is real.

19. Washington (5-7): D-Line has four first-round picks under 25. Something special brewing?

20. San Francisco (5-7): Effort has been impressive, but injuries just too much to overcome.

21. Houston (4-8): Haven't lost to a single losing team. Losses are to teams with a combined 69-27 record.

22. Detroit (5-7): OK, good for Darrell Bevell and the boys, but Bears really beat themselves.

23. Chicago (5-7): Offensive issues are obvious, but what happened to the defense?

24. Carolina (4-8): Hard to gauge just how far away this team is.

25. Atlanta (4-8): Give them their props, they certainly haven't been phoning it in.

26. Denver (4-8): Should Drew Lock experiment be over or is there more to see?

27. L.A. Chargers (3-9): We keep hearing Anthony Lynn isn't in trouble – but why?

28. Philadelphia (3-8-1): Wow, Jalen Hurts starting over Carson Wentz, now that's a story.

29. Dallas (3-9): So is there any chance Jerry Jones will hire a G.M. qualified for the job?

30. Cincinnati (2-9-1): If Bengals are going to win again it almost has to be this Sunday.

31. Jacksonville (1-11): So how far is the drop off from Trevor Lawrence to Justin Fields?

32. N.Y. Jets (0-12): Puzzle isn't that Adam Gase still has this job; it's how he got it?
