Joe Aguilar

Joe has been a trusted voice in print and electronic sports media for more than 30 years. He earned his first full-time job in the industry for Pioneer Press Newspapers, where he worked for 11 years. He joined the Daily Herald in 2001 as its first Lake County Sports Coordinator and remained there until 2020, helping establish the media group as the No. 1 voice in the county, while also appearing more than 100 times on ABC7-TV as a pro sports expert. He began his career at Shaw Media as a copy editor/page designer in 2021 and transitioned to sports in 2024. A graduate of Mundelein High School and Northern Illinois University, he was induced into the Lake County High School Sports Hall of Fame as a media member in 2024.
