The Chicago Bears have reportedly asked permission to interview their first coaching candidate.
The Bears plan to interview Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, per the NFL Network’s Tom Peliserro. The Bears fired general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy on Monday.

Frazier, who played for the Bears and won a Super Bowl with the team in 1985, has been the Bills’ defensive coordinator since 2017. Frazier has been a coach in the NFL since 1999 and was the interim head coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2010 before he officially became the head coach from 2011 to 2013.

Frazier had a 21-32-1 as the Vikings’ leader, qualifying for the playoffs once during the 2012 season when Minnesota lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round.
