CHERRY — State Bank of Cherry and Cherry Bancorporation President and CEO Dan Wujek is pleased to announce the election of Attorney Nicholas Balestri to its board of directors. Balestri is ideally suited to assist in the governance of the bank as a board member.
Balestri was born and raised in LaSalle and graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 2002. He went on to earn a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From there, he attended law school at Northern Illinois University and graduated with honors in 2010.
Balestri worked for the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office for five years, prosecuting domestic violence and narcotics cases. In January of 2016, he joined his father, John Balestri, and his partner, Richard Fiocchi, at Bernabei, Balestri & Fiocchi Law Offices, where the focus of the practice is real estate law.
“The State Bank of Cherry will benefit from having Nick share his knowledge and experience with the Bank,” said Wujek. “As we sought to find an individual with legal experience, Nick was a clear-cut choice for us. We look forward to working together as we seek to increase shareholder value.”
Balestri stated: “It is an honor to become a board member with the State Bank of Cherry. The State Bank of Cherry is rich with tradition and has been a staple of the village of Cherry, as well as serving the needs of many in Bureau, LaSalle, Lee and Putnam counties.”
According to Wujek, “The State Bank of Cherry seeks tailor-made solutions. The bank offers a full array of products, including fixed-rate home mortgages, home equity lines of credit and USDA mortgages. We offer all of the electronic conveniences you expect, along with competitively priced products. Our mission is to help people be their best and be a bank for good.”
The State Bank of Cherry is a strong, independent, community bank, providing quality service for the past 115 years.
