PRINCETON —Princeton’s North Main Street is getting a fresh, updated look as part of the continued Main Street beautification project.
This week, crews from Taylor’s Way have been planting trees along the Art District sidewalks, similar to what was planted on South Main Street previously.
Mayor Joel Quiram said there are four variety of trees being planted uptown, just as there were downtown. The city made the cut outs for each tree, he said. Each one was planted and mulched by Taylor’s Way at a cost of $300.
“The city is fronting the overall cost of the Main Street program, but we are also taking donations for each tree,” Quiram said. “Any individual or business that donates $300 toward a tree (there will be a total of 15 new trees) will have their name added to a brick in one of the four sidewalk locations downtown where we recognized those who donated before.”
Memorial donations are also welcomed, he said.
“We have received several donations for trees to date,” Quiram said. “Anyone wanting to make a donation can do so at either City Hall or at the Princeton Chamber of Commerce located at the Prouty Building.”
