The Princeton High School Music Boosters is asking for the community’s help in fundraising for new uniforms to replace what the school has been using for nearly two decades.
During Homecoming Week, the Boosters kicked off a fundraising campaign titled “Back the Band” to raise funds for the uniforms. They look to raise approximately $35,000 to make the new uniforms a reality, Linnea Campbell, Boosters secretary said.
Currently $6,000 is set aside for this project.
Campbell said the current uniforms were purchased and first used in the fall of 2002, making them 19 years old.
“They have been altered so many times over the years that there isn’t much fabric left. Pants are frayed and jackets are too small,” she said.
Seventy-five uniforms will be purchased in order to have the size ranges needed for current students and those coming in the future. The estimated cost is approximately $35,000. One-third of the cost will have to be paid when the order is placed. The goal is to place the order this spring in order to have the uniforms for the fall of 2022.
