Nancy Bland was honored Monday with a reception at the Police Department

Princeton Police sent off one of their own with the retirement of Animal Control Officer Nancy Bland.

Bland, a familiar face to residents dealing with a variety of animal related woes, from escaped pets to uninvited wildlife visitors, was honored Monday with a reception at the Police Department.

“Animal Control Officer Nancy Bland is retiring after 15 plus years of service to the citizens of Princeton,” Police Chief Tom Kammerer said. “Her dedication to the well-being of our family pets will be missed. We wish her the best in her retirement.”

Kammerer said Bland’s position will be filled at a later date.
