Dannis, Illini break in track facility

CHAMPAIGN - Former St. Bede Bruin standout Bret Dannis and the Fighting Illini broke in their new track facility last weekend at the University of Illinois.

Dannis ran a new Personal Record (PR) with a 13.79, placing second in the 110m hurdles in the Fighting Illinois BIG 10 Relays held at the newly finished Demirjian Park.

He is ranked sixth in the 110m hurdles in the BIG 10, 13th in NCAA West Div 1 and 25th in Div 1 Combined (U.S.A).

Dannis, a former BCR Track Athlete of the Year and IHSA state champion, also runs for the U of I 4X1 relay team, which is ranked fifth in the BIG 10 with a new PR on Saturday of 40.10.
