Stage Coach Players' DeKalb holiday show runs through Sunday

“Tune in to the Holidays” features sing-along, holiday classics

DeKALB – The DeKalb theater troupe Stage Coach Players presents its “Tune in to the Holidays” seasonal show through the weekend.

Remaining shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 126 S. Fifth St., DeKalb.

The cabaret-style show is sponsored by Curated Travel and George and Ginny Ziders.

Terri Crain Goodman (“Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?”) directs the family-friendly show with Abi Mogge (“Rent”) as music director.

Crain Goodman said she starts listening to holiday music right after Halloween.

“My favorite part of the holiday season is being with family and the music,” she said in a news release.

The cabaret features songs from favorite holiday classics including cartoons such as “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Christmas Time Is Here;” classic and contemporary films such as “We Need a Little Christmas;” along with popular music such as “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

The show also features an audience sing-along.

The cabaret is split into several sections, including Radio Classics, Decorating for Christmas, Film and Festivities, and Traditions.

The cast for “Tune in to the Holidays” includes Celine Bennetts, Katy Beyren, Deb Brubaker, Susan Foster, Kimberly Freund, Terri Crain Goodman, Teresa Haish, Ellie Hart, Pamela Hart, Paula Howlett, Jon Jaworowski, Elli Kettley, Chase Marruffo, Arabella Marruffo, Roberta Maxfield, Abi Mogge, Cortney Jo Newby, Maisie Schnorr, Andy Small, Jyllann Torres, Emelie Walton, Ryan Washabaugh, Mandy Wescott, Chloe Williams and Hannah Wood.

Haish said she loves everything about Christmas.

“From the moment Christmas music starts playing to the twinkling decorations, the holiday cartoons, Hallmark movies, festive cookies and meaningful church services, it’s all so special,” Haish said in the release. “I love spending time with family and friends, soaking in the extra joy and kindness that fills the air this time of year. There’s nothing like it.”

Tickets for adults are $25 each. Tickets for children 12 and younger and seniors are $23 each.

“There’s something for all ages that will help to put you in the holiday spirit,” Crain Goodman said.
