Downtown DeKalb was transformed this month into a magical wonderland during the fourth annual “Once Upon a Tutu” event hosted by Dimensions Youth Ballet.
The family-friendly evening brought festivities to storefront windows with live performances by ballerinas, according to a news release.
“It was a wonderful night that truly showcased the spirit of our community,” Melissa Beck, youth ballet board member, said in a news release. “We’re grateful to our local merchants, community partnerships, performers and everyone who came out to make this event so special.”
Downtown merchants joined in the festivities by offering a variety of family-friendly activities, interactive crafts and more, perfect for guests of all ages. Many businesses also featured seasonal promotions, special treats and live music. Local establishments offered cozy holiday drinks to bring a festive ambiance to the evening as community members strolled through the holiday-lighted streets downtown.
Once Upon a Tutu is an annual tradition meant to celebrate the arts, local businesses and the vibrant community of DeKalb, according to the release.
Event organizers extended thanks to all who contributed to the event’s success, including this year’s window sponsors.
