Genoa-Kingston 68, Newman 66: At Forreston, Marcus Johnson scored 17 as the Cogs beat the No. 1 seed in the tournament and reached Thursday’s semifinal.

Nathan Kleba scored 12, Blake Ides 10 and Hayden Hodgson nine for the Cogs.

Sycamore 75, Marengo 36: At Sycamore, Carter McCormick led the Spartans with 14.

Josiah Mitchell added 12 for the Spartans, Unique Shaw 11 and Isaiah Feuerbach nine.

Girls wrestling

Kaneland Scramble: The Knights finished with 148.5 points to win their home 10-team tournament, with Sycamore ninth and Genoa-Kingston 10th.

Angelina Gochis got three tech falls for a first-place finish at 115 for Kaneland. Brookyln Scheaffer added three techs for a win at 125, with Caitlyn Maner getting three pins for a first-place finish at 155. Carly Duffing took first at 235.

Dyani Torres was second at 140 and Kara Colles was second at 135 or the Knights.

Ema Durst won at 145 for the Spartans behind a pair of pins while Winter Beard was second at 170.

Jordyn Graf led the Cogs with a fifth-place finish at 170.

Girls basketball

Indian Creek 58, Hiawatha 26: At Shabbona, the Timberwolves led 40-6 in the Little 10 matchup.

Isabella Turner scored 19, Bethany Odle 15 and Madison Boehne 10 for IC.

Hinckley-Big Rock 62, IMSA 20: At Hinckley, Sami Carlino scored 25 in the win.

Raven Wagner added 15 for the Timberwolves (5-4, 3-0 Little 10) and Anna Herrmann added 13.
