Sycamore 55, Walter Payton College Prep 44: At Elgin, the Spartans reached the semifinals with the win.

Isaiah Feuerbach scored 13 points and Unique Shaw added 11. Jake Shipley and Carter York each scored 10.

Reed-Custer 41, Indian Creek 37: At Seneca, the Timberwolves scored 17 in the first quarter of the Shipyard Showdown opener but fell.

Payton Hueber scored 11 for the Timberwolves (10-3) and will face Marquette at 9 a.m. Friday with a second game later in the day.

Sandwich 56, Hinckley-Big Rock 53: At Plano, Martin Ledbetter scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the loss.

Sandwich hit a corner 3-pointer with 4 seconds left to secure the win.

Girls basketball

Dixon-KSB Holiday Classic: At Dixon, the Barbs split their first two games of the tournament.

DeKalb opened with a 42-17 win against United Township then lost 70-40 to Byron.

Dunlap 41, Sycamore 28: At Rockford, the Spartans lost their first pool play game in Boylan’s Reindeer Games.

Sadie Lang scored 11 to lead the Spartans, who play Orangeville and Grant to wrap up pool play on Friday.

Peoria Notre Dame 49, Kaneland 31: At Rockford, the Knights lost their pool play opener in Boylan’s Reindeer Games.

Kendra Brown scored 13 in the loss.
