Boys basketball

Waukegan 82, Sycamore 63: At Elgin, Jake Shipley scored 12 in the Elgin Holiday Tournament championship game loss Saturday.

Josiah Mitchell added 11 for the Spartans. Isaiah Feuerbach and Unique Shaw made the all-tournament team.

Indian Creek 68, Wethersfield 49: At Seneca, Everett Willis scored 23 as the Timberwolves finished 2-2 at the tournament.

Faustino Mora added 15, and Payton Hueber scored 13.

Hinckley-Big Rock 66, Newark 62: At Plano, the Royals finished the tournament 2-2 behind 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists from Martin Ledbetter.

Max Hintzsche scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Royals (9-3). Alex Casanas added 14.

Girls basketball

Moline 51, DeKalb 46: At Dixon, the Barbs finished the KSB Classic in eighth place.

Harlem 44, Sycamore 38: At Rockford, Quinn Carrier scored 19 points in the loss at Boylan’s Reindeer games.

Sadie Lang scored 11 as the Spartans took eighth place.

Kaneland 51, Boylan 47: At Rockford, Kendra Brown scored 22 points to help the Knights finish in third place at Boylan’s Reindeer Games.

Parkview 36, Hinckley-Big Rock 28: At Earlville, the Royals took fourth with the loss.

Mia Cotton scored 11 for the Royals.

Women’s basketball

NIU 92, Viterbro 44: At DeKalb, Alecia Doyle scored 20 points in 19 minutes to lead the Huskies.

Sidney McCrea added 14 for the Huskies (6-5.)

“I think there’s a lot of things to go through from those 40 minutes that we will be happy about,” NIU coach Lisa Carlsen said. “That first group came in and took care of things. We had a few players who had been struggling to shoot that shot well today.

“Those are all good things going into MAC play next week.”
